Are you looking for a no-bake, quick way to serve pumpkin for a crowd? This recipe is PERFECT for when you want the taste of pumpkin pie without all the effort! The addition of chickpeas gives the pumpkin a bit of a protein boost, as well! Serve with your favorite sweet (or salty!) dippable treats! In our kitchen, we’re fond of dipping strawberries, mini bagels, honey crisp apple slices, and cinnamon sugar pretzels in our pumpkin pie hummus!

Step 1: Measure your spices

Spices are the backbone of “pumpkin pie” flavor! Gather your cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, and pepper! Yes, pepper! It really brings the flavors together!

Step 2: Gather ingredients!

For hummus, we of course need some chickpeas! Pumpkin (either canned or our homemade pumpkin puree, spices, brown sugar, and vanilla bean paste, round out the rest of this recipe! For those who may not have brown sugar on hand, substituting white sugar and molasses will give a similar result! And of course, substituting vanilla extract for vanilla bean paste is also acceptable.

Step 3: BLEND!

Pumpkin pie hummus relies upon a quality food processor or blender to produce its classic texture! Depending on the texture of your pumpkin puree, some liquid may need to be added. We typically use water, but apple juice, cream, or milk would work as well! Just be sure to refrigerate properly if using dairy products!

Step 4: Serve your pumpkin pie hummus!

Build your charcuterie board! Including a variety of dippables is advised. In our kitchen, we like to provide a mixture of healthy choices (like fruits) and fun choices (like pretzels)! For this particular gathering, we chose a variety of apples (red delicious, honey crisp, and granny smith) and sliced strawberries for our healthy choices. For our fun choices, we used cinnamon sugar pretzels, Nilla wafer cookies, and mini bagels! Overall, it was a hit!

This hummus is delicious straight out of the food processor. It is also one of those things that benefits from being refrigerated overnight! Serve immediately or store, covered, in the refrigerator for up to a week!
